Subhash C. Gumber, M.D., Ph.D
Dr. Gumber completed his PhD in Biochemistry at Washington State University in Pullman. He then relocated to Boston where he pursued his medical education, earning his MD from the University of Massachusetts School of Medicine, and completing his residency training in internal medicine at Boston University Medical Center. Dr. Gumber completed his gastroenterology fellowship at Harvard Medical School. He is board certified in gastroenterology and hepatology.
Throughout his career, Dr. Gumber has published multiple research papers in major peer reviewed journals. His clinical interests include high-risk colo-rectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, and pancreatico-biliary diseases. Dr. Gumber served as Director of Gastroenterology Fellowship Program while on the faculty at East Carolina School of Medicine. He then joined the practice in 1998, and presently serves as the Medical Director for the Gastroenterology Division.
He has continued to be involved in medical education, frequently speaking on gastroenterology related subjects in his local community. Dr. Gumber lives in Cary with his wife and two kids. Some of his personal interests include music, golf, and traveling with his family.
